Event Description

Once again, Cork University Hospital and Bishopstown GAA are delighted to present our Wheel4Life Cycle and Family Fun Day on Sunday 27th August 2017. We would be delighted to have you on board for what promises to be a unmissable cycling sportif! This year CUH Charity is fundraising for a crucial piece of life-saving equipment – an MRI Scanner for Cardiac Services at CUH and all proceeds from the event will be shared equally between the Club and CUH Charity.

There is something on offer for everyone, including an  100km Old Head Challenge, 40km Leisure Cycle and 8km Family Fun Event – with options for children and their parents to cycle, run or walk  – starting at  12 Noon from Bishopstown GAA and involving a route through Bishopstown, Lee Fields, CUH and back to Bishopstown GAA. All participants will be treated to a complimentary BBQ and entertainment back at the clubhouse, ensuring a fun day of activity for the whole family!

How to fundraise:  We would be very grateful if you could ask your family, friends and colleagues to support you in Wheel4Life 2017. Once you have registered,  a fundraising page can be set up online via https://www.idonate.ie/event/1513_wheel4life-cycle-2017.html or alternatively contact CUH Charity to request a sponsorship card.

If you have any queries on registration fees, or on fundraising for Wheel4Life Cycle and Family Fun Day, or if you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact holly@cuhcharity.ie or call 021 4234529.

We hope that you will join us in our major fundraising appeal to raise funds towards an MRI Scanner for Cardiac Services at CUH and at the same time enjoy a fantastic sporting day out this summer.

CUH Charity

CUH Charity was established in early 2012 to help fund better facilities and the life-saving equipment that the many patients and children attending Cork University Hospital urgently needed.

Together we’re accomplishing so much. With 42 specialties under one roof, CUH conducts more research and clinical trials than any other hospital in the country, and is:

  • The only Level 1 Trauma Centre in Ireland
  • The largest teaching hospital in Ireland
  • The only hospital in Ireland to get the Green Flag Mark

Your continued support means that we can continue to grow and enhance the expert level of care provided by Cork University Hospital. We are building a community of caring.
