Galway Hospice

Galway Hospice provides fully-accredited specialist palliative care services to adults and children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout Galway city and county, and on the adjoining islands, as well as providing support to their families and carers.  These services include Home Care (365 days per year), Inpatient Care (18 beds), Day Care (3 days per week), Bereavement Support (for as long as it is needed) and Education (for staff, carers and multidisciplinary professionals in the community).

We also continue to plan for the future, having now commenced the Design Stage of the planned new 36 single-roomed Hospice Inpatient Unit adjoining Merlin Park Hospital.  When the design is completed, an application will be made for full planning permission to Galway City Council.  We will also be embarking on a capital fundraising campaign to build the new hospice, which is estimated to cost in the region of €16 million.

Your support is very important in assisting Galway Hospice to continue providing specialist Palliative Care services, free-of-charge, and to the greatest number of patients possible, for as long as they are needed.

There is no charge for the services provided by Galway Hospice.  These services continue to be hugely enabled by the amazing financial support of the people of Galway.  Our biggest challenge is stretching these resources to meet the unrelenting demand for our services, and that is why we have to keep planning ahead, with the new development at Merlin Park, so that we will continue to ‘be there’ for the people of Galway into the future.  But in the meantime, we must also keep our focus on meeting current demands.  Through your support, you are playing a very important part in helping us to do this.  Thank you!

Someday, someone you know may need our services. Others need us today. Thank you for your support.
