The Ambo Ramble

Event Description

The Ambo Ramble 57Km & 127Km  Charity Leisure Cycle Tour. 

This Cycle starts and finishes in the Marion Hall Ballinhassig Co. Cork doing a loop of the beautiful West Cork Countryside taking in the Old Head of Kinsale.

This is the final training spin before the Ring of Kerry Event.

The aim of the Cycle is to raise funds for The Ethiopian Deaf Project which is currently building a school / centre for deaf Children in Ambo in Ethiopia.

The event is being run in con-junction with Kilgrew Cycles.

Food / Water stops – Clonakility and at Finishing line Ballinhassig ( Hot Showers facilities & Free Parking also available)

T shirts for all participants

Stewarding, Signage and ambulance cover are in place

Safety: Please note hard shell helmet must be worn or you will not be allowed participate in the event. Please take directions from gardaí and stewards.

The Ethiopia Deaf Project

Ambo Lazarist Deaf School working to help transform the lives of the Deaf community in Ambo. The ALDS was built in 2012 and employs three qualified teachers for the Deaf. The school offers the Deaf children in the area an opportunity for the first time ever to achieve their full potential in education. The establishment of the ALDS will help to break the stigma associated with deafness and disability, introduce Deaf Awareness training for parents and local society and offer Sign Language classes to parents allowing them to participate more fully in the life of their child and enhance the relationahip between child and parent.
